Bramble Lane, for macOS. Last updated 30 August 2026.
Bramble Lane has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. It does not send anything to us, ever, because there is no server to send it to. The only feature that touches the network at all is playing alongside a friend, and that connects your computer directly to theirs.
Everything stays on your Mac. Your household, the house you build, the whole history of the family and every saved game are stored locally in the app's own folder. None of it is transmitted, and we cannot see any of it. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
A shared game connects the two computers directly. One player hosts on a port, the other enters that address. There is no server of ours in between, nothing is relayed through us, and we never learn that a game happened at all.
While you play together, the two copies of the game exchange only what they need in order to stay in step: the actions taken in the game, a tick counter that keeps both sides on the same step, and one snapshot of the town so that a joining player starts from the same world. That snapshot is the game state itself: the household, the house, the furniture, the sims and their history. It goes to the person you are playing with, and to nobody else.
The game has no text entry anywhere, so there is no nickname, no profile, and nothing you have typed that could be sent. Sim names come from a fixed list built into the game.
Because the connection is direct, the person you play with can see the network address you are connecting from, in the same way as any direct connection between two computers. Only play with someone you know.
Bramble Lane is suitable for all ages and collects nothing that could identify anyone, of any age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, because we do not collect personal information from anybody.
Do not start or join a shared game, and nothing leaves your Mac at all. To remove what is stored locally, delete the save from within the game or delete the app. Since we hold nothing, there is nothing to request a copy of or ask us to erase.
If this ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that materially expanded what is collected would be announced in the app before it took effect.
